We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Technician Apprenticeship like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Virtual Patient Safety Attendant, you will play a vital role in protecting patients at risk for falls, injury, or self-harm. From your remote station, you will closely monitor their physical and emotional well-being and communicate concerns in real time – empowering the care team to respond quickly and helping care for and improve lives one moment at a time. Your responsibilities will include: Watching patients with continuous focus to ensure their safety and well-beingIdentifying risks such as falls or self-harm and promptly alerting the care team to intervene quickly and protect patientsDocumenting patient activity and changes with accuracy and clarity throughout your shiftHonoring patient privacy by safeguarding confidential information at all timesCollaborating closely with the healthcare team to foster a culture of compassion, respect, and teamworkApprenticeship Program DetailsCertifications you will receive: PCT Certification Qualifications:Entry level candidates, CAN NOT have experience or school/certification as a CNA, MA, Tech/Aid or any similar healthcare fields. Timeframe: 12 weeksRate of pay during program: $15 per hour while in the PCT Apprentice programWork Schedule: Students will be in class/training during the week,full-time 8:00am – 4:30pm.(in-person at North Lake College in Irving Texas and clinicals at a designated MCH hospital) You will be paid for class time and weekend shifts. Students are required to work 1 weekend shift per week as a PSA. Class and training schedule times will vary and include several12-hour clinical days. Position while in program:Patient Safety Attendant PRNCompletion of Program:After participants complete the Apprentice program and receive their PCT certification they will apply for a full-time PCT position at the Medical City hospital location where they completed their PSA shifts. Pay rate will be increase by 5%. Basic Life Support Position Requirement: BLS isNOTrequired at point of hire for PCT apprentice program; A BLS certification course will be provided the first week of hire prior to any hospital shifts. If they have their BLS already, they need to provide a copy to HR and program coordinator as verification to not participate in the BLS class.
