Job Details:
We are on the hunt for a talented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our company's financial health by managing our company's financial procedures, including reconciliations, inventory control, and more. With your expertise, you will play a critical role in managing and analyzing financial data and ensure that our company's finances run smoothly. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing and maintaining financial records: This includes balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other financial reports.
2. Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and review of financial reports/support as necessary.
3. Analyzing and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation, and analysis.
4. Improving systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
5. Overseeing inventory control: You will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating inventory management procedures to ensure they are effective and efficient.
6. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, reporting variances back to management.
7. Ensuring compliance with state revenue service, federal, and state requirements by studying regulations and adhering to requirements.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role in the mortgage industry.
3. Expertise in reconciliations and inventory control.
4. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in MS Excel, and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
5. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
6. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
9. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
10. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
