  • ​This job is a member of the Base Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • Responsible for oversight of 3rd party heavy maintenance providers and leading the activites of the on-site team of AA employees in such a manner as to assure continuing safety, compliance, dependability, reliability and financial performance, with fair and harmonious relationships with the vendor management team and their employees, internal customers, FAA, and all non-AA business contacts.

     

What you'll do

  • Oversees the daily Production requirements of AA projects at vendor facilities
  • Coaches and develops their team by providing feedback on performance and accountability
  • Builds, maintains, and strengthens relationships with their vendor and across all groups inside Technical Operations while looking for ways to remove barriers
  • Ensures the maintenance provider and AA on-site team members (Tech Reps, QC Reps, Materials Reps, and Engineers) are following procedures in order to ensure schedules are being met with strict adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance
  • Responsible for control of budgets and cost standards
  • Ensures that AA team members skills are utilized to the highest degree possible; leads coordination with Maintenance Training to ensure on-going enhancement of staff and skill set
  • Provides Supervisors regular feedback on their performance and develops the management team to create a strong leadership pipeline
  • Conducts regular meetings with Business Reviews to ensure best possible communication, identification, and resolution of action items
  • Monitors the application of the maintenance provider’s manpower requirements to ensure consistency with program scheduling and priorities
  • Monitor work flow progress and coordinate with HMP to make sure that appropriate resources are being used to keep aircraft on track for timely redelivery
  • Ensures team members know, understand and are engaged with monitoring and reporting critical Metrics and key performance indicators
  • Monitor, coordinate and approve package add-ons to make sure that the HMP can maintain schedule
  • Reviews heavy check invoices and disputes inaccurate charges prior to approval

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aeronautics or related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years experience leading other supervisory management personnel
  • Experience in positions requiring budget understanding, resource forecasting and management and workload planning in maintenance environments
  • 5 years Aircraft Maintenance Operations or compliance equivalent experience
  • Experience managing, supervising and/or leading workgroups

     

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 3 years leadership experience
  • Lean, Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma experience

     

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • A&P License
  • Excellent understanding of airline/technical operations
  • Knowledge of auditrequirements
  • Knowledge of labor reporting and crew utilization
  • Strong interpersonal and PC skills
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple areas of responsibility
  • Excellent analytical, organization and planning skills
  • Must pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check
  • Strong process analysis/development skills
  • Knowledge of the GPM and SPPM
  • Some travel may be required
