THE HAGEDORN LITTLE VILLAGE SCHOOL (HLVS) – SEAFORD, NYSpecial Ed. Teacher Assistants & Aides – Salaried Positions IMMEDIATE INTERVIEWS/OPENINGS

8:25am – 2:40pm or 8:05am – 2:20pm/12 months/5 days per week

  • $30,828 annually (NYS Certified Teacher Assistants)
  • $29,324 annually (Teacher Aides)

This is an EXCITING and REWARDING opportunity to work in the field of special education and collaborate with teachers, other teacher aides/assistants and therapists. Great for college students or high school graduates seeking an academic school experience with special needs children. School year follows most school districts’ calendars.

  • Special Education classroom experience a plus.
  • Must be a caring, compassionate person who is eager to work with 3-12 year-old students with developmental disabilities in a small (i.e., 6-12 students) classroom environment. Duties include working on social, emotional and academic development of students, and assisting children with personal care.
  • 12 months includes: 10-month school calendar plus 6-week summer session.
  • Paid for all school holidays and breaks (Winter Holiday break; February break; Spring break; beginning/end of summer breaks surrounding the 6-week summer session).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Available medical, dental and vision insurance, 403b plan, paid time off (PTO).
  • Initial medical exam is required.
  • Must be able to handle children weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Background clearances are required.
  • Teacher Aides who pursue and obtain a New York State Assistant Teacher Certification, will be reimbursed for all costs by Little Village (additional information provided at interview).
