Responsibilities include decontaminating, disinfecting, sterilizing, storing, and distributing medical instruments, linen, equipment, and supplies. Operates sterilizers and related software, maintains records, and ensures compliance with infection control standards. Coordinates with service departments to ensure adequate supplies and promotes safety and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities Decontaminates, inspects, tests, and packages medical instruments and supplies. Operates sterilizers such as EtO, Steam Steris, and Sterrad, performing biological testing and record-keeping. Manages inventory using SPM and maintains departmental stock using Event Related concepts. Provides delivery of processed items, supports operating room scheduling, and maintains a clean, safe environment. Reports equipment issues and performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Registered Central Service Technician Certificate within 3 months of hire. Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization equipment.
