Job Description

What's Application Development in our Technology Division? At a time when technology is creating new business models, disrupting industries and creating valuable experiences for consumers, our role as technology team members must elevate an organization through innovative transformation, modernized technology and delivery of new business strategies, including an aim to continuously evolve and enhance the customer experience. This position is located within one of our Run teams of our Build, Run operating model for Application Development at Wellmark, and is responsible for supporting Wellmark's digital applications. The team works very closely with its partnering Build team and fostering that relationship will be a key element of success in this role.

What projects might I support? Although subject to change, examples of projects you will be contributing to include:

• Assist with the management and troubleshooting of multiple applications in support of Wellmark's systems
• In collaboration with application operations, assist and work with Technology and business stakeholders to troubleshoot and provide production support to research and find root cause for systems errors
• Develop business knowledge of the application necessary to effectively provide support maintenance

This internship will start in May of 2026, working a hybrid schedule from our headquarters in Des Moines.

Qualifications

Current junior or senior student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field

Knowledge of software development technologies (NodeJS, Angular, .NET, MongoDB, SQL)

Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Accuracy and high attention to detail and self-starter.

Ability to troubleshoot and develop creative technical solutions.

Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel)

Excellent writing and communication skills

Preferred:

• Prior work experience in an office environment or internship
