As the Senior Sales Engineer, you will report to the Chief Sales Officer and you will play a key role on the sales team to drive sales success. In addition to being a technical expert, you will serve as a thought leader and change agent, providing critical feedback on sales strategy and process. You will be heavily relied upon by the Account Executives to provide deep technical expertise to potential clients, helping translate product features into customer benefits. This role requires a blend of sales skills, engineering knowledge, and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Impact: Provide thought leadership and partner closely with the CSO to drive enhancements to sales strategy and process. Provide technical and market expertise to positively impact sales success.
  • Best Practices: Work with sales leadership to continually define and hone our sales strategy and process to ensure we deliver impactful proposals backed by demonstrable value.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as a liaison among the sales team, product development, and engineering teams, providing feedback on product performance, customer needs, and potential improvements.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team during client meetings to provide technical insights, demonstrations, and to answer any technical questions. Assist in the preparation of presentations and proposals.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with prospective clients to understand their specific needs and requirements. Develop tailored solutions that meet or exceed these needs using the company’s products/services.
  • Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations, showing how the product meets the prospect’s needs. Customize demonstrations to address the specific pain points of the prospective client.
  • Proposal and RFP Preparation: Assist in creating technical content for proposals and responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals). Ensure that all technical aspects of proposals are accurate and compelling.
  • Training and Development: Provide training to internal team members on product features and usage. Stay current with the latest developments in the field through continuous learning.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects and clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Provide ongoing support to customers post-sale, ensuring product adoption and satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: Proactively understand the technical specifications and functionalities of the company's products/services. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in a technical sales role providing thought leadership to evolve sales strategy and processes. The ideal candidate will have experience selling applications in the Unified Communications space in pre-sales support, product management, or engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Unified Communications solutions (Cisco CUCM, Webex, Microsoft Teams, Zoom etc.) Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office Suite, and relevant sales tools.
  • Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of the Unified Communications market including its rapidly changing technologies and solutions, competitors, partners and complex sales process. Ability to understand the complex business and market conditions and develop actionable insights and recommendations to help the company achieve its goals.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Ability to assist sales team in executing an effective sales process. Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time or on as needed basis.
