Position Summary

The essence of the role is to ensure that molds in the department are maintained by welding, grinding, and machining. They also must drive Continuous Improvement activities to provide quality rotationally molded product.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Make minor tool repairs and modifications
• Assist in process improvement projects
• Maintain tool maintenance supplies
• Assist with production through the company when needed
• Safely use all equipment and act in a safe manner
• Proactively make improvements to molds to prevent quality and productivity issues
• Proactively make improvements to molds to prevent future mold maintenance needs

Environmental and hazardous chemical response/exposure

Awareness level:

• Use and comply with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
• Knowledge of aspects and impacts for work area
• Identify and report environmental incidents
• Comply with environmental and safety regulations
• Follow job-specific instructions related to environmental aspects

Attributes

• Willing to cross-train and work in other areas of the company
• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Holds the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form
• High standard of craftsmanship in welding, machining, and grinding
• Team oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills
• Works well with others and in a team environment
• Takes ownership of their work and prides themselves in delivering a high-quality product
• Able to provide feedback and suggestions on how to improve tools

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school
• One to three years of related experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Able to read and comprehend blueprints
• Ability to use oxy-ace torch and sandblasting equipment
• Two years experience of welding steel and aluminum through MIG and TIG welding
• Two years experience in grinding procedures and blueprint reading
• Two years experience using precision measurement equipment
