McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Resource Team Counselor to work with the Outpatient programs at its headquarters in Charlotte.

How will you help us achieve our mission? You will:

  • Provide evidence-based counseling and education, within the scope of certification or licensure, to clients experiencing effects of mental health and substance use disorders. 
  • Assist clients in formulating treatment and discharge plans. 
  • Monitor clients’ progress to evaluate success of treatment and adapt therapy as needed. 
  • Document clients’ progress within required timeframes. 
  • Staff clients’ cases with treatment team, as necessary. 
  • Adhere to all agency, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines. 
  • Counsel family members as needed to assist them in managing addiction and providing support for the client. 
  • Refer and coordinate care with other support services for clients as needed. 
  • Assist the authorization department with documents needed to request treatment authorization. 
  • Attend clinical supervision, as required. 

What are the qualifications needed for this role?:

  • Academic requirements vary by specific licensure and certification. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with concentration in Counseling, Addiction Studies, or similar discipline preferred.
  • Valid License or Associate Status of one or more of the following: LCAS, LCMHC, LMFT, LCSW; or valid certification or Intern status as a CADC recognized by the NCASPPB or other state offering reciprocity.
