Job Type: Full-time; On-site Responsibilities Direct, coordinate, and facilitate the daily activities of direct reports to ensure achievement of production goals and customer expectations in a safe, timely, cost-efficient manner. Ensure standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology and design is used to maximize production. Assist in the development of plant/department budget, monitor plant spending and reports on operating costs within functional areas. Remain apprised of and keep management informed of cost and labor overrun, make recommendations, and implement solutions to related issues. Work closely with plant functional managers to develop and maintain a positive employee relations environment. Evaluate functional activities to verify they are performed at the appropriate levels of the organization and that resources are in place to build capability where potential skill gaps have been identified. Assist in the development of short and long-term goals; work with sales and business development staff to meet established growth initiatives through effective planning. Assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience in a food manufacturing environment. 5 years' experience in a Meat processing food manufacturing environment with demonstrated department management experience (coaching, people leadership). Strong leadership skills: demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop others. Knowledgeable in applicable regulatory compliance (OSHA, USDA, FDA, etc.). Working knowledge of GMP's, SOP's, HAACP, OSHA and other quality and safety programs in food processing environments. Experience with USDA is required.
