Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Karyopharm-Health Economics & Outcomes Research About the Opportunity: Northeastern University's Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Program is a two-year fellowship designed to advance the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates in various areas of industry pharmacy including regulatory affairs, medical information/affairs, patient safety, outcomes research, and many other areas. The program is a collaboration between Northeastern University and biopharmaceutical industry partners. Our program provides a dynamic academic environment offering fellows the opportunity for a wide breadth of experiences: Develop teaching skills through participation in our Teaching and Learning Seminar series. Facilitate small and large group didactic education in partnership with a faculty mentor. Create, present, and publish scholarly research through collaborative industry and university relationships. Engage with faculty who participate in various interdisciplinary initiatives. Network with area residents and other Northeastern fellows via professional development programs, teaching seminars, and participation on fellowship committees. About Karyopharm Therapeutics: Karyopharm Therapeutics is an innovation-driven pharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of medicines with the goal of improving the lives of patients with cancer. Our company was founded in 2008 with a vision of pioneering a potentially new approach to treating patients with cancer and other serious diseases. Our novel approach to cancer treatment involves targeting the export of specific proteins in a cancer cell's nucleus with SINE technology. Our primary focus is on developing novel drugs which we hope will help treat patients with certain blood cancers or solid tumor malignancies. Responsibilities: Overview: As US Healthcare faces significant financial and other challenges, pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies are working to holistically assess and communicate the value of their products to patients, physicians, and payers. The goal of the two-year Health Economic & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Fellowship is to develop professionals who will understand the healthcare ecosystem and how to analyze the intrinsic/potential value of pharmaceutical products for all stakeholders. They will learn how the value of pharmaceutical products is identified, quantified, adapted, evolved, and communicated across the life cycle of the product. HEOR Fellow will: Support development of AMCP/Global Value dossiers outlining product value based on available evidence and aligned with strategic brand positioning. Support health economic modeling such as budget impact modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and network meta-analyses as needed. Support development and execution of real-world evidence generation plan leveraging real-world data from commercially available large-scale datasets or through partnerships with practice sites in the US. Support Global Product Teams in the identification and implementation of appropriate payer-relevant endpoints and patient-reported outcome measures into registrational trials. Conduct literature reviews to identify evidence gaps to support KPTI products. Support the development of field materials containing healthcare economic information. Collaborate with Market Access to fully leverage healthcare economic information for formulary decision-maker messaging. Effectively manage vendors to ensure receipt of high-quality, on-time, on-budget deliverables. Medical Affairs assignments will be tailored to align with the candidate's interests in areas such as Scientific Communications, Field Responsibilities, Advisory Boards, and Symposiums. Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Massachusetts or PhD in relevant discipline (e.g., health services research). Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
