Job Description Job Description Payment Posting Specialist Location: Knoxville, TN Pay Range: $17–$20/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday (Daytime Hours) About the Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to join a healthcare revenue cycle team within a well-established health system in Knoxville, TN. This role is responsible for accurately posting payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting medical collections efforts to ensure patient and insurance payments are applied correctly. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or healthcare finance who enjoy working with numbers, data accuracy, and behind-the-scenes operations that keep healthcare systems running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Post insurance and patient payments accurately to patient accounts Apply payments, adjustments, and contractual allowances in accordance with payer guidelines Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice to ensure correct posting Reconcile posted payments with deposits and remittance reports Identify and report posting discrepancies, underpayments, or unapplied funds Support medical collections efforts by ensuring balances are accurate and up to date Work closely with billing, claims, and accounts receivable teams Maintain compliance with billing policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and documentation standards are met Required Qualifications Previous experience in payment posting, medical billing, healthcare collections, or accounts receivable Strong attention to detail and accuracy Familiarity with EOBs, remittance advice, and payment workflows Basic understanding of medical billing and insurance processes Comfortable working with billing systems or EMRs Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a hospital or health system environment Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payments Revenue cycle or healthcare finance background Why Join This Team?
