Position Summary:
Lead effective/consistent administration of collective bargaining agreements for the division. Work collaboratively with division leadership/corporate labor staff to align labor agreements with the companys overall labor strategy philosophy. Represent division interests in all legal matters initiated by associates through local unions, governmental agencies and courts. Handle grievances in a manner that protects the company's right to effectively run the business. Establish/maintain a relationship with unions/management that minimizes the number of grievances, arbitrations or other charges. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Desired Previous Job Experience:

* 5 years experience as an HR generalist
* Experience with distribution center operations, labor planning and labor cost management
Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
* Bachelors degree in industrial/labor relations or other human resources (HR) degree
* Self-motivated with strong initiative to achieve results
* Excellent written and oral communication, planning and organizational skills
* 5 years of labor and associate relations experience
* Strong conflict resolution skills
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
Essential Job Functions:
* Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
* Implement division labor strategies that align with corporate strategies
* Ensure employment decisions/actions that affect associates are made in a timely/consistent manner
* Work with management to promote harmonious labor relations and foster the concept of safeguarding the company's management rights
* Ensure divisions conduct required labor/employee relations training
* Ensure compliance with all federal/state labor/employment laws
* Ensure all calls to the Ethics Point Hotline are investigated and brought to closure in a timely manner
* Oversee and consult with the Legal department regarding the return-to-work process for associates with permanent restrictions (i.e., Americans with Disabilities Act)
* Administer any local reorganization, layoffs or reduction in force situations
* Maintain effective communication with counterparts from other companies within the retail food industry
* Educate/advise management associates in the administration of progressive discipline
* Conduct training/education meetings with management on any newly negotiated labor agreements
* Administer grievance and complaint resolution processes
* Represent the company in all labor/employment or legal matters
* Represent the division and participate in labor agreement negotiations; provide support services and information for negotiations
* Serve as an alternate trustee for trust funds
* Maintain current information within the operating area for union and non-union organizations
* Maintain a copy of all competitive contracts and information on rates of pay, benefits and working conditions of union and non-union competition
* Travel to conduct training sessionas and to attend education meetings
