Mechanical Construction Estimator position offers a great opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of mechanical engineering projects, with a focus on mechanical contracting and HVAC, plumbing and piping installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating projects up to $10 million, from bid to proposal. This role requires a deep understanding of the Baltimore and Washington DC area, as well as proficiency in Quote Soft estimating software. Serving clients throughout Maryland Washington DC and Virginia area, they offer comprehensive mechanical systems construction—including HVAC, plumbing, and process piping—on projects that span healthcare, education, industrial, and other specialized markets.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects, including HVAC and pipe installations, based on engineering drawings, technical specifications, and other project documentation.
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for each project to determine the overall cost.
• Use Quote Soft estimating software to prepare and present detailed and accurate bid proposals.
• Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits to gather essential information for accurate estimating.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate.
• Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and construction processes to provide the most accurate estimates.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical construction estimating, specifically in the contracting industry.
• Trade school education in a related field.
• Journeyman license is required.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC and pipe installations.
• Strong understanding of the Baltimore and Washington DC area construction market.
• Proven experience with Quote Soft estimating software.
• Demonstrated ability to estimate mechanical projects up to $10 million.
• Conceptual estimating experience is a must.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
