Maintenance Supervisor – Swing Shift

Location: Turlock, CA

Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 + Bonus Opportunities

Our client, a leader in the food and beverage manufacturing industry , is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations on the swing shift at their Turlock, CA facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about driving uptime and equipment reliability. In this role, you will manage a team of 10 maintenance technicians , ensuring all plant machinery operates safely and efficiently. You’ll take ownership of preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and lead continuous improvement efforts across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage the swing shift maintenance team.
• Assign daily tasks, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
• Build a safety-focused and high-performing maintenance culture.

Maintenance Operations

• Develop and manage preventive maintenance strategies to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and oversee third-party contractors when needed.

Scheduling & Coordination

• Create and maintain detailed maintenance schedules.
• Work closely with production and operations teams to align maintenance activities with plant goals.

Inventory & Budget Oversight

• Monitor spare parts and tool inventory to ensure availability and cost efficiency.
• Support budgeting efforts and help identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.

Process & Performance Improvement

• Analyze equipment performance data to drive continuous improvement.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements to boost plant efficiency and reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to support overall plant operations.
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve maintenance concerns.

Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
• Experience : Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing maintenance role, including at least 2 years in a leadership position. Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing is highly desirable.

Skills :

• Strong knowledge of plant equipment, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
• Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
