Qualifications:

1. Valid Michigan Department of Education School Counseling Certification.
2. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Plan and implement scheduling processes that adhere to the district vision, goals, and objectives as outlined in the adopted course curriculum.
2. Assist families and mentors with learning styles decisions.
3. Register new and current students.
4. Assist and develop long-term SEL and CTE education for all online learners in grades K-5.
5. Prepare and implement daily reports and class schedules for assigned students.
6. Promote counseling procedures that focus on the social and emotional well-being of students via safe and open communications.
7. Effectively manage students while providing for a variety of learning styles, ability levels, and educational/linguistic backgrounds.
8. Assist state testing coordinator with the state process as the Oxford Virtual Academy Testing.
9. Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory through coursework, in-service programs, and by attending professional development activities.
10. Engage parents and students in the learning process through frequent and meaningful communication about student progress.
11. Participate in building and district level activities, staff meetings, professional development activities, program meetings, and other educational planning meetings for assigned students including 504s and IEPs.
12. Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of student progress and attendance in accordance with district policies, procedures, and pupil accounting guidelines.
13. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff members.
14. Employ technology as appropriate to enhance instruction.
15. Engage with students in meaningful activities beyond the classroom, which extend learning experiences for students.
16. Assist with the marketing for the Oxford Virtual Academy (attend presentations and recruitment meetings both via webinars and in person meetings).
17. Openly support and abide by all school policies and procedures.
18. Hybrid schedule includes both remote and classroom lab time.
19. Maintain a regular schedule to visit in-person locations around Southeast Michigan to maintain regular interaction with students.
20. Support the Oxford Community Schools vision and mission.
21. Perform other duties as required.

Reports to: Building Principal(s)



Salary: Per Oxford Education Association Salary Schedule, 188 workdays per year
