What We’re Looking For Iridium seeks an experienced Front-End Web Developer to support near-term digital transformation initiatives and long-term efforts to keep Iridium’s digital properties at the leading edge of the competitive satellite communications industry. Working in Iridium’s Digital Communications group—as a part of the company’s Global Marketing team—you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the technical profile, performance, and content modernization of Iridium’s websites. What You’ll Do Collaborate with Iridium’s Digital Communications group and outside vendors to launch a redesigned, redeveloped Iridium.com Enforce Iridium’s Web governance policies and guidelines for writing, file naming, SEO, and design assets Help to keep Iridium Web properties secure in collaboration with our IT Security team Support the development, design, and maintenance of Iridium Web applications Assist in server-side logic and maintenance to support front-end functionality Identify and resolve site defects Remain current on emerging Web technologies and tools through continuous professional development, reading, and research Manage domain names and hosting services Ensure compliance with WCAG accessibility and privacy policies What You’ll Need to Succeed Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree—or commensurate certifications or experience—in Web Development, Computer Science, or related field 2-3 years of experience in Drupal website administration, including customer module and theme development or IT-related roles Experience with website automation tools and APIs Basic knowledge of UX/UI design principles Proficiency with Git-based workflows, JIRA, and Agile development practices Experience with SEO best practices, Google Analytics, and website performance optimization Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others Have confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others Passionate about satellite communications or telecommunications Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table Experience with AWS and/or AWS certification(s) Cybersecurity experience and/or certification(s) Backend proficiencies: PHP, Node.js, Python, Ruby Database proficiencies: Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases Drupal certification (Acquia Certified Developer or equivalent) is a plus We’ll Also Need You To Be able to travel up to 15% To comply with U.S. Government export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), applicants for this position must be U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.
