Job Description: Finance Director

Our client is a leading legal contract platform with nearly 200 contracts, exhibits, and forms that define the relationships and terms involved in design and construction projects. As a Finance Director, you will need to have the ability to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The Finance Director’s responsibilities include preparing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Finance (FP&A) Director serves as the strategic finance partner to the business unit leadership team. This role is responsible for driving financial insight, operational performance analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Director will lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable reporting that helps the organization achieve growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

• Act as the primary financial advisor to the company’s leadership team, providing insights on revenue trends, cost structure, and profitability.
• Partner with product, sales, marketing, and operations leaders to evaluate new initiatives, pricing strategies, and investment opportunities.
• Convert financial data into actionable recommendations that drive sustainable growth.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budget process and rolling forecasts for the business unit.
• Build and maintain multi-year financial models to guide strategic decisions.
• Identify key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Deliver monthly management reporting packages with variance analysis, KPIs, and narrative commentary. Own, monitor, and analyze key SaaS performance metrics including ARR, Retention, LTV/CAC, etc.
• Monitor results versus budget/forecast and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and clarity in all financial deliverables.

Operational & Process Excellence

• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
• Implement tools, dashboards, and metrics to improve visibility into business performance.
• Support contract modeling, licensing analysis, and product-specific metrics tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5-8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or Strategic Finance, ideally within high-growth, SMB-focused software/SaaS business; Experience within Private Equity backed businesses preferred.
• Strong background in FP&A, financial modeling, and business performance analysis.
• Experience partnering with senior executives to influence decision-making.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (Excel, Power BI, NetSuite, HubSpot) including modern FP&A tech stack (e.g. Anaplan, Mosaic).

Compensation: $160,000 - $210,000 salary plus 20% bonus
