Employment Type: Part-Time and/or Contract (PRN/Flexible)

Regions/Counties: Region 1- Chattooga; Region 2- Hall, Forsyth, Jackson; Region 3- Clayton, Cobb, Gwinnett.

Position(s): 2 [One Male & One Female]

Position Overview:

The Field Toxicology Specialist is responsible for the collection, documentation, and secure transport of drug screening specimens (urine, saliva, or others) as assigned. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of specimen collection for family, child welfare, and court-related cases. This position requires travel, flexibility, and adherence to confidentiality and chain-of-custody protocols.Priority Availability Days: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect drug screening specimens in accordance with state, federal, and Laboratory specific standards
• Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation for all samples
• Schedule and confirm appointments with clients and caregivers as assigned
• Safely transport specimens to labs or designated locations if required
• Report missed appointments or refusals in real time
• Communicate effectively with program staff and DFCS liaisons
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety protocols
• Maintain supplies and report inventory needs
• Provide professional and respectful interaction with clients and families
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Prior experience in specimen collection (required)
• Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and DHS OIG clearance
• Ability to follow strict documentation and procedural protocols
• Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Must be comfortable working with children, adults, and diverse populations

Compensation & Support:

• Fee-for-service
• Mileage reimbursement
• Laboratory Specific Training provided upon onboarding (HIPAA, Chain of Custody, etc.)
• Supplies provided by NPractice

Work Environment:

• Office/Field-based, with travel to client homes, DFCS offices, or community locations
• Travel to client sites is required.
• Flexible scheduling on Monday, Tuesday, & Friday, including PRN or assigned case routes, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Must be able to maintain professionalism in high-stress or sensitive situations.
