Under supervision, trains to investigate alleged or suspected violations of Federal, state, or local laws, rules and regulations to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution or to report findings to the appropriate jurisdictional authority for their action. Utilizes proper software programs to store, collate and review financial information and evidence. Trains to identify case issues and evidence needed. Prepares reports that detail investigation findings. Obtains information related to cases. Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses, or by analyzing records. Examines records in order to locate links in chain of evidence or information. Conducts internal investigations of law enforcement agencies. Conducts background investigations. Collaborates with other authorities on activities such as surveillance, transcription, and research.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Two years of experience as a sworn staff member in law enforcement or corrections. Two years of experience in criminal and/or administrative investigations. Completion of Basic Law enforcement (PBLE) Certification. (Entry pay: $50,314.00 and Entry pay with mandate: $59,520.14).
NOTE: This position is in the North Region and is located at Hays State Prison in Trion, Georgia. The selected applicant must either reside within the region or be within 25 miles of the region.
Comment: Applicants will be required to pass a Physical Agility Test.
