Position Overview

CMS Energy is seeking  two highly skilled Cost Estimators III  to support upcoming projects in the  Oil & Gas and Construction  industries. These positions are open to fully remote candidates across the United States, continuing the successful history of remote placements for similar roles.

As a Cost Estimator III, you will be responsible for preparing complete and accurate estimates for medium-complexity projects across various contract types. The role requires in-depth knowledge of estimating principles, cost control techniques, and interpretation of computerized cost data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for assigned projects.
• Utilize discipline-specific knowledge in  Civil, Structural, Architectural ,  Mechanical , or  Electrical estimating.
• Interpret project documents, blueprints, and specifications to prepare cost projections.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure estimating accuracy.
• Utilize cost control systems and reporting tools effectively.
• Maintain compliance with company and industry estimating standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of industry experience OR
• 4 years of relevant industry experience + 4-year degree in a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in estimating techniques and cost control systems.
• Experience with oil & gas or large-scale construction projects is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting computerized cost data.

Certifications (Required or Strongly Preferred)

• AACE Certification:
• Certified Cost Professional (CCP)or
• Certified Estimating Professional (CEP)
• ASPE recognition is a plus.
