Job Title: Computer Network Defense Analyst (CNDA)
Location: Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance Requirement: Secret

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Computer Network Defense Analyst (CNDA) to join our team. This position is suitable for both entry-level and experienced candidates who are continuous learners, looking to develop their skills in network and information security. The CNDA will be responsible for ensuring the security and defense of national, DoD, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) networks. This includes continuous network security monitoring, intrusion detection, and incident response for the Ballistic Missile Defense Communications Network (BMD COMNET) and C2BMC mission systems.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce national and DoD security policies (8500.01, 6510, etc.)
• Conduct continuous network security monitoring and intrusion detection
• Execute time-sensitive adjustments to the network security posture
• Analyze event logs, recognize intrusions, and differentiate false positives
• Develop a network defense visibility display
• Respond to network security incidents and provide incident response actions
• Administer the BMD Computer Network Defense (CND) suite of tools, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems
• Monitor and manage network security tools such as SideWinder, ArcSight, HBSS, Tripwire, and others
• Perform proactive security measures to deter, detect, isolate, contain, and recover from information system intrusions

Requirements:

• Entry-level to experienced candidates welcome (advanced degree with 0-1+ years of experience or bachelor's degree with 0-3+ years of experience, or equivalent)
• Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Must be capable of obtaining a TS/SCI clearance and indoctrination into higher-level programs
• Familiarity with network security concepts, client/server environments, LAN/WAN, network monitoring, and management tools
• Experience with intrusion detection systems and firewalls
• Knowledge of hardware configuration (Routers, CSU/DSU, bridges, multiplexers, servers, switches)
• Ability to recognize worms/viruses by their signatures and network intrusion events

Desired Skills:

• TS/SCI clearance (preferred)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification
• Unix and/or Microsoft OS training
• Experience in securing network gear against known vulnerabilities

Shift Requirements:

• Position requires rotating 24x7 shift work. Candidates must be flexible and available for off-shift rotations, including nights and weekends, based on mission requirements.
