Since 1985, Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness. AHCH provides a distinctive continuum of integrated care through outreach and site-based services to address the health-related causes and consequences of homelessness. Our vision is to live in a world that is just and without homelessness. We believe that homelessness is an issue that can be solved through access to quality health care, adequate and affordable housing, and a living wage.
At AHCH, we are dedicated to providing a collaborative and empowering environment, where Community Support Workers receive continuous support from colleagues and supervisors. We prioritize open communication, shared resources, and mutual respect to ensure the ultimate success and well-being of both our clients and our team members. We also have in-depth trainings, alongside a robust onboarding plan.
Do you have a passion for connecting others with resources and providing support? This position may be right for you! Our ideal candidate is an independent thinker who has the ability to make sound decisions in the moment. We are looking for someone with strong critical thinking skills, a client-centered mindset, and the ability to work well with diverse populations. The candidate must be comfortable with traveling to clients in various parts of the city and transporting clients in our company vehicles.
Our organization practices the harm reduction approach and we need a candidate that understands and buys into this philosophy. Trauma informed care is another important philosophy of ours and we work with clients in this framework. We also believe in housing first and treating first, trying to have as many barriers to health care and housing removed as possible.
