JOB ANNOUNCEMENT The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections.

POSITION: Commercial Appraiser POSTING #: 3541-0924sr This position may be underfilled as Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser II OR
may be underfilled as Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser I The Opportunity: Under general guidance and direction of the Commercial Appraiser Supervisor and in accordance with State Code 59-2-701, performs commercial appraisal work. Participates in all aspects of establishing fair market values for county assessment roll.
Starting Pay: Commercial Appraiser Grade 727 Step A: $36.96 - Step G: $42.49 Hourly Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser II Grade 725 Step A: $32.14 - Step G: $36.96 Hourly Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser I Grade 723 Step A: $27.97 - Step G: $32.14 Hourly Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday
Job Qualifications: Commercial Appraiser 1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Five (5) years of work experience as a real property appraiser or in a related field such as real estate or building construction.
3. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered if all Additional Eligibility Qualifications are met.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Applicant must possess designation as a Certified General Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.
2. Incumbent must obtain General Ad Valorem Appraiser designation with the Utah State Tax Commission within twenty-four (24) months in position.
Job Qualifications: Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser II 1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Two (2) years of related experience.
3. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered if Additional Eligibility Qualifications are met.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Incumbent must be licensed as a Certified Residential or General Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.
2. Incumbent must hold the designation of a State of Utah Ad Valorem General Real Property Appraiser.
Job Qualifications: Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser I
1. Bachelor's degree.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Incumbent must be able to obtain an appraiser trainee designation with the Utah Division of Real Estate within one (1) year of employment, unless already licensed as an appraiser. The time limit may be adjusted due to class availability of the Utah State Tax Commission.
2. Incumbent must obtain an Appraisal License with the Utah Division of Real Estate within two (2) years of employment.
Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment.
2. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
