Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee our company's financial operations and guide its strategic growth. As a key member of the executive management team, the CFO will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis, compliance, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
  • Advise on long-term business and financial planning.
  • Establish and develop relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Review all formal finance, HR, and IT-related procedures.
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company.
  • Supervise financial reporting and budgeting team.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Present financial reports to the board of directors, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications:

  • Proven executive experience in the construction industry
  • This role can be for a current CFO or a Director/ VP of FInance that is ready to move into a CFO role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA, CMA, or other related certification preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP).
  • Ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization, and with staff at remote locations essential.
  • Experience in a start-up or high-growth environment a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and experience with contracts.
  • Experience in compliance and transactional accounting is a must.
