Join Our Team as a Certified Pathology Assistant at Labcorp!

As a Certified Pathologist Assistant , you will play a crucial role in specimen dissection, gross description, and tissue preparation for microscopic examination in our clinical pathology laboratory. Your expertise will help ensure accurate pathological diagnoses, all while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Work Schedule

1st Shift: Generally Monday – Friday (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) . Flexibility for weekend or other shift coverage is essential.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform complete dissection, gross description, and submission of tissue for microscopic examination.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.
• Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
• Assist with departmental rotations and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Maintain a professional environment and high ethical standards.
• Identify and address issues affecting test performance or reporting.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management and personal protection measures.
• Experience cutting frozen sections is a plus.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Biological, Chemical, or a related life science.
• Completion of a NAACLS accredited PA program.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
• Previous experience with small biopsies and complex surgical cases is a plus.
• Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment preferred.
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle physical requirements of the position.
• Must pass a standardized color vision screen.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
