Come summer with us at the Minnehaha Country Club! Do you have experience as a server/bartender? Join our team at the Minnehaha Country Club! We operate a beverage cart on our professional golf course. We are searching for top notch summer staff to serve on the course this summer. The Club's course is open only to Club Members and their guests. Because we are member only, you will also get to know many regularly visiting members with this unique serving position in Sioux Falls.

Positions will be available Mid-May through Labor day – apply today!

Reports to: Player’s Grill Manager

Compensation: $11.00/hour + tips

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcohol.
  • The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
  • Currently enrolled in or possessing a high school diploma or GED required.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

  • Greet and acknowledge members and guests.
  • Must have good communications skills and a dynamic, outgoing personality.
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes.
  • Responsibly serves alcoholic beverages, refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary.
  • Complies with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of club’s POS system.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Learn members’ names and their special preferences.
  • Stocks and cleans beverage cart and completes opening and closing requirements.
  • Good organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • TAM Alcohol Server Training preferred.

Job Summary / Essential Functions

Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of the beverage cart. Prepare, pour, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Deliver member and guest satisfaction through consistently excellent service.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Provides immediate attention to all members and guests.
  • Maintains, cleans, and secures beverage cart and equipment according to operating procedures.
  • Inspects the beverage cart prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available; requests additional supplies as necessary and stocks the beverage cart.
  • Mixes, prepares, and serves drinks to members and guests according to approved standard recipes.
  • Maintains records of liquors, beers, and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.
  • Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and takes precautions against possible spoilage.
  • Verifies accuracy of prices of charges on all checks before presenting bill, and ensures proper account billing.
  • Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
  • Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager.
  • Turns in signed tip declaration form weekly.
  • Continually practices beverage and revenue control procedures.
  • Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
  • Attends Department meetings as required.
  • Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by Club Management.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position requires a seasonal, summer daytime availability, including weekends. Holiday work will be required from time to time.
  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds individually.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor restaurant environments, which may be cold, hot, humid and/or noisy.
